Visit the Kilkenny Union Workhouse, now the beautifully restored MacDonagh Junction Shopping Centre. This award-winning €5 self-led AV tour begins at the Customer Service Desk (opposite Next) and guides visitors through the buildings that once formed the fifth workhouse in Ireland.

Hear the human stories of the inmates who lived and died within these walls and learn about the unexpected discovery of over 970 human remains, described as the most significant discovery in the world relating to the Irish Famine.
