WASPS vs HUMANS
This autumn, Wasps vs Humans release their second album, ‘The Day Homo Sapiens Destroyed the Earth’.
Recorded between Dublin and Cork, the album is the culmination of two years of gigging, capturing the raw energy of their live show in a harder, grittier yet more melodic sound. Heavy guitar riffs and thundering beats collide with harmonies, folk influences, whistles and bodhrán — though there’s not a trad song in sight.
WvHs are an anarchic mix of drums, bodhrán, whistles, punk poetry, songs and beats. A sonic assault, their brand of electronic punk-folk energy tackles disappointment, inner-city crime, a fame-obsessed culture and social decay with a huge dollop of desperation, balanced by equal measures of anger and wit, creating a darkly humorous soundtrack to modern life.

CAPTAIN MOONLIGHT
One of Irish Hip Hop’s finest, Kilkenny rapper Captain Moonlight has never been one to avoid saying what’s on his mind; a rapper, writer, producer and political vomit inducer, his social commentary tackles serious issues, with a dash of punk, a swing of a hurl and a folk horror narrative, creating intelligent, hard-hitting, often humorous hip-hop.
After releasing his ‘Agroculture’ trilogy back in the noughties, which included tracks, ‘Dirty Cunt’s ‘Economics Of A Wasted Life’ and ‘Fuck U’, a fallow period followed…
Captain Moonlight 2.0 is older, angrier, looking to fight the Taoiseach while waving a Palestinian flag, wrapped in a post covid psychosis.
