This Halloween, Youth Ecology Art explores the hidden ecologies that emerge in these in-between spaces; beneath the soil, inside decaying wood, after dark, and beyond what we usually notice.

Working with natural pigments, fabric, microscopy, collage, sound and experimental map-making, we’ll investigate decomposition, fungi, nocturnal life, underground networks and imagined landscapes.

Together we’ll create artworks inspired by the strange, beautiful systems that quietly recycle, transform and sustain life.

Day One — Into the Understory

Follow the hidden lives of fungi, roots, insects and decomposers, gathering ideas through observation, microscopy and field sketches & grow your own fungi in a petridish!
