A Samhain Medieval Feast

Friday 23th October 2026
Location: Rothe House
Step back in time to the golden age of Kilkenny’s merchants for an immersive four-course culinary experience at the historic Rothe House. Join us as we bring Renaissance life to the table, celebrating the home and legacy of John Rothe and Rose Archer. Your evening begins in the firelit courtyard with medieval-inspired cocktails, setting the mood for a vibrant, interactive long-table feast. Designed around the best of Kilkenny’s modern artisan producers, the menu weaves together local treasures, including Goatsbridge Trout and Highbank Orchard, with exotic spices arriving via ancient trade routes. Experience the garden as a living larder, where freshly plucked herbs brighten sharing boards, leading into a magnificent main of fire-roasted pork and root vegetables served with hand-picked apple sauce. The night concludes with a dramatic, Samhain-inspired dessert alluding to Kilkenny’s colourful history of witchcraft. Expect exceptional food, storytelling, and conviviality in one of Ireland’s most extraordinary historic spaces Friday 23rd October & Sunday 26 October
