The Alternative Kilkenny Arts (AKA) festival is a local, community-led arts festival that takes place every August. It runs from August 7–17, 2025 and features the work of over 200 artists from a wide range of creative areas — including visual arts, music, performance, writing, and more.AKA is all about community and creativity. It gives artists a chance to share their work in an open, welcoming way, and invites the public to enjoy and take part in the arts. The festival is free to attend and open to everyone. The AKA Hub, located in the Bank at the bottom of the parade acts as both a base for the team and a lively space for exhibitions, events, and performances.A full list of events will be available from mid-July at akafringe.com.
