Thursday 30th October 2025
Location: Rothe House & Garden 16 Parliament Street R95 P89C Kilkenny
Ahead of the release of his new album David Keenan is taking to the road across Ireland this October to play hidden gems & hallowed rooms. As part of Kilkenny’s Home of Halloween festival, David will play a special gig within the intimacy of the Tudor Kitchen in Rothe House. This gig is all about the stories, the people and the joy of playing live in some special places.
David says “I’m chasing myth around Ireland, seeking out local stories and folklore as I go. They say the Irish pub is dying and that magic doesn’t exist in venues anymore? I’m setting out to prove this wrong in October. It’s not about the size of the room, it’s about the people, the place and the music”
David Keenan is a captivating Irish Artist offering up inspired songs like medicinal anthems for those looking to be uplifted. He is part Poet / Street Singer / Rabble Rouser / Storyteller with a soulful stadium sound that is both epic and ethereal. He has been revered by critics and peers alike as one of the best lyric writers of his generation.
His new single ‘Poison Water’ will be released on the 29th of August alongside news of his fourth studio album ‘Modern Mythologies’ being released in November 25 via Good Form Recordings.
A new raw and revealing documentary about his life, ‘Words on Canvas’ / ‘Focla ar Chanbhás’, has screened at film festivals across North America and Europe already this year ahead of its Irish and UK premieres. He is the main composer on the upcoming feature film ‘Salvable’ which is out now via Lionsgate.
His wide-ranging creativity has resulted in a rich catalogue of projects, with three albums (including an Irish #1 record), a string of EPs, consistent touring since 2019, as well as a book of poems and recent work for screen.
This unique tour reaffirms David’s reputation as a travelling troubadour on a higher musical mission.
