Location: Kilkenny City, See listing for details
The Middle East is once again in terrible turmoil and millions of civilians are in mortal peril as the conflict between Israel and Palestinians engulfs the region in violence unprecedented in 50 years. This panel looks at the underlying economic factors and dynamics that operate in the Middle East and seeks to understand what role they play in this seemingly intractable conflict. How do the oil-rich Arab countries spend their money and why? How has Israel become a global leader in technological innovation? How does trade operate between the countries of the Middle East and other global players and how does this influence the geopolitics of the region?
