Saturday 30th September 2023
Location: Cleere’s Bar and Theatre
Head of RTÉ Children’s Division Suzanne Kelly is joined by creatives Gilly Fogg, Niamh Herrity and Aidan O’Donovan, to discuss how a project develops when audio is the first consideration, drawing from their first-hand experiences.
In El Deafo (Lighthouse Studios), clever sound design mimics the experience of growing up with hearing loss; in Urban Tails (Pink Kong) musical rhyme helps children imagine what life is really like for the wild creatures living amongst us in our cities; and in Maddie and Triggs (Turnip & Duck) music plays a key role in how a vision-impaired girl and her doggy best friend find adventure in the everyday.
