 We’ll begin the day with a short excursion, led by Maria Cullen, who will share a fascinating insight into fungi and lichens, featuring a range of shapes, colours, and textures. Some of these specimens have historically been used for dyeing wool, and we’ll discuss their ecological roles, cultural uses, and potential for creative experimentation.Using hand lenses and a microscope, we’ll take a closer look at the often unseen micro-world of fungi, bryophytes, algae, soil, and rock.
