Neurodiversity in Education: Inclusive Practice

Friday 22th March 2024
Location: Kilkenny Ormonde Hotel
What’s happening at the conference?

We invite you to join us in Kilkenny on Friday the 22nd March 2024 for Ireland’s inaugural Neurodiversity in Education Conference.

This year, we are placing a keen focus on “Inclusive Practice”, encouraging a more collaborative and understanding approach in education.

Understanding Neurodiversity
The time for inclusion is now.
Neurodiversity is a concept that acknowledges the wide range of cognitive variations amongst individuals. It encourages us to appreciate the different ways people perceive and navigate the world. By fostering a deeper understanding and respect for these variations, we aim to diminish barriers and facilitate more harmonious interactions between neurodivergent and neurotypical individuals.

We are using this term now to help remove the barriers between neurodivergent individuals and neurotypical individuals. So, we are all one and the same – just people with unique brains!

Neurodivergent people make up approximately 15% to 20% (one in five) of the global population, while some put the number closer to 30% to 40% due to significant rates of underdiagnosis.
