On Thursday the 14th of March the Western Carolina University Marching Band will perform in Kilkenny Castle Park at 12noon.
Hailing from Western Carolina University in the beautiful Southern Appalachian mountains of Cullowhee, North Carolina. The ‘Pride of the Mountains Marching Band’ was founded in 1938. The award winning band is widely regarded as one of the top marching bands in the Southeast for its elaborate field shows.
Often called “the world’s largest funk-rock band,” the unit performs a crowd-pleasing medley of up-tempo pop tunes, with electric guitars, singers and other musical elements not typically associated with marching bands.
Jack A Eddy is band Director along with assistant directors Matt Henley and Trevor Bailey.
Take a break and come out to the Castle Park to support our visitors and enjoy this performance in front of the magnificent Kilkenny Castle.
