Guardians of the River: Walk and Talk

Saturday 16th August 2025
Location: Inistioge The Square Inistioge Get directions
Guardians of the River: Walk & Talk, guided by Nore Vision’s Maura Brennan, will see river stories, conservation insights, and community wisdom flow together as we walk along the River Nore. Through ritual, story exchange, and a Council of Waters, we’ll listen to the river as a sentient being, set heartfelt intentions, and explore collective actions to care for life-giving waters.

All workshop attendees are welcome to join a traditional music session and Community Pot Luck Dinner from 6PM in the Otter Bar.

This will be an outdoors event – Please dress for the weather, whatever it may bring!

Maura is an educator, forest school practitioner, herbalist, weaver, wild food forager and forest therapy guide. She leads projects in community seed saving, forest school, nature connection and place-based learning programmes. She is CEO of the Acorn Project, a non-profit organisation delivering nature based learning and wellbeing programmes that empower communities to take action in ecological restoration through reconnection with their local wild spaces.
