Opening the Savour Stage 2025 is Orla Drumgoole, the woman behind Irish Mammy Cooks!
Orla is wife to Paddy, mother of three, and a retired secondary school teacher of Music and English, whose love of cooking grew from watching her own mother batch cook and bake every weekend to keep ahead of each busy week.
Orla is a self taught cook, whose recipes are intuitive, and easy enough for everyone to copy. Her teaching skills allow her to simplify and explain in a warm easy manner, and she has a loyal following of 250,000 followers on social media who inspire and inform her posts with their own shared experiences.
She enjoys experimenting with everyday ingredients, and likes to use up what’s left in the fridge instead of always reaching for something new on the shelf.
Many of Orla’s recipes are adaptations of traditional Irish fare, scones, soda breads, tart and crumble, but with added flavours and a tweak or two. Orla loves to use Irish ingredients where possible, and works with several Irish brands as a brand ambassador.
