Music Generation Kilkenny presents ‘Try the Pipes’ in partnership with Na Píobairí Uilleann. Music Generation Kilkenny , in partnership with Na Píobairí Uilleann, is offering a free uilleann pipe taster session to young people supported by Yulefest Kilkenny. The event takes place on the 29 November 2025 from 4–6pm at the Medieval Mile Museum , Mary’s Lane, Kilkenny City. Members of the public will have the opportunity to listen to some accomplished uilleann pipers as well as try out the instrument for themselves with the assistance of a professional piper. They can also find out more information about upcoming classes with Music Generation Kilkenny. Try the Pipes is open to ages 10 – 18 and uilleann pipes will be made available on the day. Kieran Joy from Na Píobairí Uilleann and Mick Foley from Kilkenny Pipers Club will facilitate the taster session.
