4 week Adult Art Course The Learning Centre at Butler Gallery offers two dynamic and experimental art courses for adults, guiding participants on a creative journey through the process of art-making and learning. Workshops are led by professional artist Rachel Burke and take place in a welcoming and supportive environment, nurturing individuals’ creative thought and practice. Courses are available on either a Thursday evening 5.30pm-7.30pm or Friday morning 10.30am-12.30pm. Participants will experiment with different art mediums and gain creative confidence to develop their own work. Participants will be introduced to contemporary Irish and international artists, new styles and techniques. It is an important aspect of the course to develop an awareness of artists that are currently working and how they approach subject matter, develop ideas and techniques in their work. We will look at composition, line, tone, colour, mixed media and collage, subject- matter, all aspects of drawing and painting. During the duration of the course participants will be taught elements of portraiture, landscape and abstract painting. 5th March – 27th March 2025 (Thursdays / Fridays) Thursday Evening Course, 5.30pm – 7.30pm Friday Mornings Course, 10.30am – 12.30pm
