Michael Gallen’s The Curing Line, winner of the world’s largest opera prize (Fedora Opera Prize 2025), makes its world premiere at Kilkenny Arts Festival 2026.” “Rooted in the complex world of the Irish borderlands, the show centers around Cora, a woman endowed with the ability to ‘cure’ ailments of the breath. Amidst the uncertainty of 1990s small-town Ireland, the production subverts operatic form with a blend of sean-nós, mantras, industrial sounds, and techno energies.
