Anakronos, led by Caitríona O’Leary, sets sixty Latin poems written by Bishop Richard de Ledrede and preserved in the fourteenth-century Red Book of Ossory to music influenced by contemporary classical, jazz and medieval traditions. O’Leary sings and directs alongside Nick Roth, Deirdre O’Leary, Greg Felton and Mel Mercier. The performance takes place in St Canice’s Cathedral, where Ledrede was bishop, beneath Peter Walker’s Peace Doves installation of 10,000 paper doves carrying messages from Kilkenny.
