Anne Williamson’s first film recounts the 1895 killing of 26-year-old seamstress Bridget Cleary after her husband became convinced she had been replaced by a fairy changeling. Co-written with Brian Andrew Clancy and performed by the Fionn MacCumhaill Players, the film contrasts a present-day colour framing with a black-and-white retelling of Bridget’s final days, filmed by Louis Buggy of Diceman Films. It features Chris Kavanagh’s original ballad The Maid of Old Clooneen, won Best First-Time Female Director at the 2026 Indie X Film Fest, and is followed by a Q&A with Williamson.
