Chamber Choir Ireland, conducted by Gabriel Crouch, presents Winter’s House, an evening of winter and Christmas choral music. The centrepiece, Joanna Marsh’s Winter’s Garland, evokes a child’s icy winter dream, lamplit halls at twilight and the energy of a midwinter feast. The programme also includes Estonian folk hymns, medieval Irish and Nordic carols, an Appalachian folk carol, The Wexford Carol and a rose sequence combining settings of Es ist ein Ros’ Entsprungen by Heinrich Isaac, Jan Sandström and Hugo Distler. Marking the close of Chamber Choir Ireland’s 30th-year celebrations, it also features O Magnum Mysterium by the choir’s founding Artistic Director, Colin Mawby.
