Sunday 04th February 2024
Location: BILLY BYRNES BAR (Bridgets Festival)
Join us in Billy Byrne’s to close out this year’s festival. Live electronic music coming from MonoSource with DJs Neil Flynn and Jellypelt playing throughout the night.
MonoSource (Live)
MonoSource is the new hardware focused audiovisual live act from producers Peter Lawlor and Leo Pearson. Having collaborated on various projects over the years, MonoSource is a conscious step away from the computer and embracing the chance, experimentation, and improvisation that can be found in electronic music performance.
Both Pearson and Lawlor have been busy with their solo work in recent years. The latter focusing on scoring for tv and film, whereas Lawlor has released a string of well-received 12”s for various labels showcasing his love of all things techno, house and electro. The pair had been making music from a distance over the last half-decade as Lawlor made Glasgow his home. On returning to Ireland, studio sessions naturally led the pair away from the screen towards their hardware. The pair will debut their new project at this year’s St. Brigid’s Festival closing party.
Neil Flynn (Another Love Story)
Neil Flynn is a Dublin-based, internationally acclaimed DJ/Producer, releasing music primarily on the forward-thinking house label Lossless. Outside of the studio you can find Neil in the DJ booth (where he is most happy), playing both club and festival bookings across Europe and North America, at his club night Sketch in Dublin, with his beloved Another Love Story festival crew where he is resident or at Somewhere In The Distance, an intimate dance festival one hour east of Berlin.
Jellypelt (Moot Tapes)
Two years on from appearing on sublime 4-track EP Working, Irish producer Jellypelt confirmed his arrival in 2021 when his full-length debut, 2127 Tanya, dropped on Moot Tapes. Its intoxicating, hazy electronic music features a masterful mix of mutated samples and scattergun breaks, landing all the punches of a golden era UK rave classic.
