Wool, heritage & creativity in the heart of the town. Join us in Cushendale Yard for a vibrant programme of free, drop-in events celebrating sheep shearing, wool, music, food and community. Watch traditional shearing, get hands-on with wool craft and weaving, dance to Irish and global rhythms, and enjoy live music from Ireland’s oldest brass band. In the lead-up to the festival, creative workshops in local schools will explore the story of wool, music heritage and creativity with local young people. During the festival, expect a buzzing yard filled with craft and weaving activities, cultural dance with Global Dance Kilkenny, a community bake-off, pop-up mini creative enterprises, and plein air painting.
