Sunday 10th September 2023
Location: Thomastown Concert Hall
The Irish Baroque Orchestra performs for the first time in the historic Duiske Abbey, Graiguenamanagh, Co. Kilkenny, with Artistic Director Peter Whelan, presenting three exuberant Masterpieces all in the key of C major. From Haydn’s rustic ‘Bear’ Symphony with its blaring bagpipe finale, to Mozart’s exquisite oboe concerto with its soaring lines and blue-sky optimism and finishing with the ‘Jupiter’, Mozart’s final symphony – a kaleidoscope of irrepressible joy and eternal invention. Hear all three pieces anew, with their colours brightly rendered on historical instruments – this is sure to be an evening to remember!
