Not every region thrives under globalisation, and many places are being left behind. This session will explore the economic realities of these neglected areas—both urban and rural—where industries have collapsed, jobs have disappeared, and the future seems uncertain. What can be done to revitalise these regions, and how can governments ensure that economic growth reaches everyone, not just a few cities? We’ll look at case studies from across the world to understand how policy interventions can help restore these forgotten places to economic health.
