In a nation where storytelling is the national past-time, Mary Kate O Flanagan laid claim to the title of Ireland’s Grand Slam Champion Storyteller at The Moth, at The Abbey Theatre in 2015. She has since won the title of Grand Slam Champion Storyteller at The Moth in Los Angeles and a Champion Storyteller at The Dublin StorySlam on several occasions. That story went viral on TikTok on Father’s Day 2023, gaining over 1.4 million views in two days and, maybe more notably, the comments section is entirely positive. It has been included in The Top Ten Stories on The Moth on PBS radio, as well as being named by many as their favourite Moth story ever.

Now she has turned a number of her stories into a piece of theatre, Making A Show of Myself, which is coming soon to your local theatre.
