A workshop for adults.
This workshop led by Cindy Cummings will be a playful and meditative movement response to REHEARSALS, Yvonne McGuinness’ current exhibition at the Butler Gallery.
Beginning with a gentle warm up, Cindy will lead you through a series of exercises based on her movement practice ‘Serious Play’ in the Learning Centre. Following this, the group will finish the session in the main gallery to move and be moved by Yvonne’s work in real time.
No movement/dance experience necessary.
Please wear warm, loose clothing, comfortable (flat) shoes and bring a yoga mat.
About Cindy Cummings:
Cindy Cummings is an independent dance artist whose practice manifests in a wide range of forms with several unifying themes: the vulnerable & mutable place of the body within contemporary society; play & humour as tools for creative interrogation; the integration of scientific concepts in a performative context. Cindy creates collaborative works with dance, theatre, visual, sound, literary and media artists around the world for live performance, installation and film. She is a facilitator at KCAT Arts Centre and a tutor on the Inclusive Dance Cork course at Dance Cork Firkin Crane. Since 2007 Cindy has been a member of Aosdána.
