Since he won the world’s biggest piano prize, the Honens International Piano Competition, in 2012, Pavel Kolesnikov has established himself as one of Europe’s leading pianists, celebrated for his intensely personal interpretations of classical repertoire.
For his second appearance of the day in St John’s, Kolesnikov performs Bach’s masterpiece, the Goldberg Variations.

One of the composer’s greatest achievements, the Goldberg Variations is a work in which Bach’s technical ingenuity dovetails perfectly with his inspiration. It’s a piece Kolesnikov has performed across Europe to rapturous receptions, and he’s sure to bring his own unique perspective on this timeless work.
