Composer Matthew Nolan, with Seán Mac Erlaine, Lisa Dowdall and Damien Lennon, performs a specially commissioned live score for Nietzchka Keene’s debut feature The Juniper Tree. Loosely based on the Brothers Grimm tale, the black-and-white film stars Björk in her first feature role as Margit, who flees with her sister Katla after their mother is burned for witchcraft. Filmed on location in Iceland, the story follows the sisters’ uneasy refuge with Johan and his son Jonas as Katla’s sorcery strains their new family.
