The Kilkenny International Chess Masters Tournament is set to take place in Kilkenny from November 24-26, hosted at the Ormonde Hotel and the Club House Hotel.

This prestigious event, first held in 1993, is a highlight of the Kilkenny Chess Congress and a cornerstone of the Irish chess calendar. The tournament was originally created to draw chess grandmasters to Ireland, providing local players with a chance to match skills with global chess elites.

Over the years, the tournament has seen participation from over 100 internationally acclaimed chess players. The upcoming edition promises excitement with eight Grand Masters and seven International Masters slated to compete.
