When darkness falls over Jurassic Newpark, a very different adventure begins. New for 2026, The Witching Hour is Jurassic Newpark’s first After Dark Halloween Experience for kids and families, taking place for two nights only on 30th and 31st October 2026. Created as a special nighttime counterpart to Jurassic Haunt, The Witching Hour gives families the opportunity to experience the park after dark, when its dinosaurs, woodland trails, rides and attractions take on an entirely new atmosphere. Visitors can test their courage in the Scare Room, wander through the creepy Jurassic Graveyard, make their way beneath the webs and giant arachnids of the Spider Tunnel, and explore Jurassic Castle, complete with ancient stocks and the infamous guillotine – just be careful not to lose your head! Some of the park’s biggest attractions also become nighttime adventures, with families able to experience Pterosaur Mountain and the Lost Valley Cyclone under the cover of darkness before climbing aboard the Jurassic Express for a haunting journey through the park. A Halloween Scavenger Hunt will send young explorers searching for hidden clues, creepy creatures and mysterious surprises, with those completing their quest receiving a spooktacular Halloween prize. At the heart of the evening will be a distinctly Kilkenny story, as families gather in the Dino Den Theatre to discover the mysterious 700-year-old legend of Alice Kyteler, one of Kilkenny’s most famous historical figures and the woman at the centre of Ireland’s best-known medieval witchcraft case. Families can also explore the Mythical Fairy Trail and Fossil Dig Area, while spooky displays, roaming characters, prehistoric creatures and Halloween photo opportunities bring the park to life after dark. Jurassic Bounce will be available at an additional charge, while the Snack Shack will serve seasonal treats and refreshments throughout the evening. Combining dinosaurs, local folklore, nighttime rides, Halloween atmosphere and family-friendly scares, The Witching Hour is a limited two-night Halloween event designed to give families a completely new way to experience Jurassic Newpark. Visitors are encouraged to arrive in their favourite Halloween costumes and prepare for a prehistoric adventure after dark… if they’re brave enough!
